We are traveling to Ireland the 1st week of Sept for our 15th anniversay. We are staying at Adare Manor and would like to schedule a vow-renewal but we are not Catholic and we want to find an 'off-the-beaten' path church to have the ceremony performed in. Any suggesions? Should we check with the hotel? Our thought was to just find a spot while we are out but I am finding that a Catholic priest will probably not perform the cermony. How tough will it be to find a non-Catholic church 'on the hill' to do this?
I don't think we've ever had a vow renewal inquiry for Ireland.
I found this link to weddings at Adare Manor

That might be as good as it gets. You probably already know that Ireland is about 90% Catholic and from some stats I looked at actually has only about 2 or 3% non-Catholic Christians, as in Protestants of any type. This fact will affect the likelihood that you will, on your own, find a non-Catholic minister to perform the ceremony.
What's been reported here before is that a Catholic priest will not perform a ceremony for non-Catholics. I don't have personal knowledge of that, but that's what has been reported here.
We too are traveling to Ireland on Sunday and are set on renewing our vows there. Both raised Irish Catholics, however, not practicing. I have decided, absent finding any real avenues regarding this ritual, to pick some ruin, i.e. the Rock of Cashel or some other. There is also Ruins of an old Castle at Castle Farm B&B in Youghal, County Cork. We are there for two night, which we may decide to use for our rewnewal. My husband, however, thinks we can probably find a Catholic priest in a pub in our travels who will gladly be of service. :) If you have found any more information that may assist us as well ~ it would be most appreciated.

You could always head over the border into Northern Ireland and try to find a Protestant clergyman to do the ceremony.
