used vouchers for B and B's in 2007 and 2000 in Ireland-worked well.Booked for this September with Sceptre Tours which also includes vouchers. Rick states he is against them. Any recent problems with them ? Kathy

I haven't had problems with vouchers but I choose not to use them now. A B&B owner and I had a long conversation about them on one of my trips to Ireland. One problem that the owners have with the vouchers is that it takes so long for them to get reimbursed for your stay. They have the expenses of your stay NOW, but it can be weeks to get reimbursed. They feel that they have to accept them because they are their mainstay during the off-season, when companies like Sceptre have good deals on packages. I have nothing against Sceptre at all, and the packages can be great deals. But I have found that B&Bs sometimes offer discounts if you pay in cash, and that seems more fair to me for the owner. I'm not sure what Rick's objection to them is.
From a user standpoint, I haven't had any trouble with them at all, and was treated wonderfully everywhere we went.
