Visiting ALthop

My father and I are planning a trip to England this summer that will include a visit to Althorp House. Can anyone suggest a clean affordable place to stay nearby?

Check Smoothhound--there are so many places all over England and you can look by county. We have stayed in quite a few of their places and for the most part were very satisfied.

Don't know of a place near Althorp. But we stayed in Stratford upon Avon, the night before and managed to drive to Althorp and arrive before it opened at 10:00am. The drive was only about an hour and a half using major motorways.

Enjoy your visit to Althorp! I went in 2003 and loved it!
We found a B&B situated close to the estate (courtesy of the Althorp website). It was an old farmhouse and was just lovely. The hosts were super sweet.

We stayed at the Brampton Hill Farm.

When booking your ticket, opt for the morning ticket. There was no time expiry - we ended up staying all day. If you buy the afternoon ticket you can't get in until a specific time or later. I think we booked a 9:00 or 10:00am ticket, arrived after that and stayed all day.
Also - get the ticket to the 2nd floor of the home - it is very well furnished and you get a better view of the art on display at the home.

We met the Earl - he couldn't have been nicer and was very gracious and hospitable.
