Visit to Chatsworth/Chesterfield

I will be traveling by rail to Chesterfield late evening and need hotel or B&B close to station that will store luggage during day. My plans are to take bus from Chesterfield Railway station next morning to Chatsworth.
Advice greatly appreciated!

have only done Chatsworth by car. But we have enjoted many visits there- the House; gardens and even the farm are all worth the time. It is very easy by car from Chesterfield or anywhere in the nearby area. The approach by car over the bridge and through the sheep meadows is truly special. There is also a village at the foot of the grounds, hidden away from the house. the story is that the owner of Chatsworth destroyed the old village because it spoiled his view, and rbuilt it where it couldnt be seen from the house. We also had dinner at the house one night for a charity event. i understand there is now a cafeteria and also a farm store in the complex

I've done the one hour drive from Chesterfield to Stockport (near Manchester) by car many times. Chatsworth is about half way. The bus will probably take longer and will probably be a lot safer than my car. The village has a couple of hotels and the usual selection of tea rooms and pubs. Very scenic drive!
