Has anyone been to the Viking Village in Hafnarfjordur, Iceland or spent the night in the hotel there? My online searching resulted in practically nothing on it. We have a limited weekend stopover in Iceland and will spend most of it on Vestmannaeyjar, from which some of my husband's ancestors immigrated. We'll probably hit the Blue Lagoon, but I'm not sure that we'll go into Reykjavik.
I can't help you from personal experience staying there but I've seen this place recommended on Trip Advisor by the Iceland expert's on their forum. I've seen some pictures online and it looks nice.
I was just in Iceland for 9 days last month and stayed in guesthouses all over the country (while driving the ring road). I found that everywhere I stayed was always exceptionally clean and the staff were helpful. It can be hard to find reviews of places in Iceland but I've never heard of anyone being upset with the quality of their accommodations. I stayed in a tiny farm guesthouse near Vik with beautiful bathroom facilities.
Why are you staying in Hafnarfjordur when Reykjavik is so close? Even if you're in Reykjavik for a day, you can still easily see and do a lot of things.
The Blue Lagoon is fun but it was the last thing I did so it wasn't as impressive as some other nature baths I was in.
