Our train from Gatwick arrives at Victoria Station and we need to get to Kings Crossing to head north to Scotland. What are the best routes and fastest....subway or bus. If subway what line? Thanks. Jim
Instead of taking the Gatwick Express to Victoria, take the commuter train from Gatwick to St Pancras, which is connected to King Cross via underground passageways. The two stations are almost next to each other. http://www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk/
Thanks for the quick reply. Sounds like a good idea. Thanks again. Jim
Note that its "Kings Cross". Not a big problem. If you end up at Victoria station, take the Tube. Victoria Line is direct from Victoria to Kings Cross. Busses are awkward with luggage and also susceptible to traffic jams. Tube trains run roughly every 5-10 minutes and if you follow the maps, you know exactly where you are.
If you're hauling more than a carryon apiece, take a cab. Might be slower than the Tube, might not, but hauling luggage on the Tube is a serious pain. Be prepared for long escalators, stairs, and walking.
