Husband and MIL traveling to London. Looking to stay anywhere close to a tube from south kensington west to ealing. Must have two beds, twin ok, and prefer kitchen and washer dryer. Tube link 5-10 min walking distance. Husband has to go to Chiswick Park area Monday -Friday for new office Network install. MIL has to get sightseeing! Can pay 125-135 Pounds daily. must include wifi versus washer dryer. thank you so much for any advice.

I was going to mention the Kensington Mansions (aka The Mansions). I stay in Earls Court and always wanted to stay in those but cant afford to. They are a very short walk from the tube station on Warwick Ave and down the street is a 24 hour Tesco grocers.

It is my favorite part of London to stay in as it is residential and not as noisy as Victoria area, etc.

I have pictures of that area if you want to see them, just email. :)

I have found plenty of places for less than 135 a day with all i need, however it is just too far from a tube or the commute is over 30 min or of course they are booked.

two places that I really liked over the summer for the originally scheduled trip are currently occupied by their owners :( but I am keeping them on the list for ourpersonal trip in May/June

Theresa,

You might have a look at www.cartrefhouse.co.uk/ which is in the Victoria Station / Belgravia area. It's an easy walk to the station to access the Tube, and also to many sites. It's not luxurious but very comfortable and the owners are wonderful.

Happy travels!

thank you but I am really looking for something more private. Husband is a light sleeper and will possibly be working 12-14 hour days. I feel like an apartment may offer them more space and quiet.

Try this place:

The Mansions

Two blocks from Earls Court tube. They are offering lots of discounts and specials. You could probably work out a deal.

You can also try homelidays.com . I've used them several times with good success. They're a website for owners, so you contact the owners directly re: the rentals.

There's also Base2Stay one block off Earl's Court rd. Sort of a combination hotel/apartment. Each room has a kitchenette--microwave, refrigerator, tea/coffee maker, plates, silverware, etc. Free wifi. No washer/dryer though.

Base2stay is great, called but they only have the 152 and 185 pound rooms left. oh well, I will keep looking. thx

what are the exact dates of your trip? There must be something going on in the area if everything is booked? Perhaps something at the Earl's Court Exhibition area.

Hello. My husband and I were just in London in May. We stayed near the Glocester train station at the Crowne Plaza. We had access to a computer in the lobby for free. We loved the hotel and its fabulous location. We are trying to go back there next year. Elaine

Try Vancouver Studios in Bayswater. It's about 3 blocks from the Baysater tube station, and 4 blocks or so from the Queensway stop. My wife and I stayed there last week, and were very satisfied. The room has wi-fi as well as a kitchenette, and was about 130 pounds.
