Two nights in Conwy or Betws-y-Coed?

Hello.

I am taking a long weekend trip through North Wales. I have finalized my plans enough to know that I am going to do some hiking around Betws-y-Coed and check out the castle and town on Conwy. The question is, which one do I spend two nights at?

I'd love to hear your opinions.

Thanks!

Conwy. B-y-C rolls up the steets early and has no great places for grub; plus it's shrimpy. That said, it does have excellent hiking access. If you decide to stay there, consider the Vagabond hostel.

We loved Betws-y-Coed! Great walks, lovely scenery, and SOOOOO peacful. We took the bus to Mt. Snowdon and did the train up to the top. Great place to break up a trip and relax.

As a town, I really liked Conwy. I was only there during the day, but loved it. Wonderful people, lovely town. I also loved Caernarfon, Beaumaris, and Llanberis.

We loved B-y-C and I disagree with the comment regarding decent dining. We had excellent meals that were recommended by our B&B owner. Hiking was wonderful and we hope to return. Stayed at B&B Bryn Afon right in the heart of the town located over a roaring stream--quiet with lots of charm.

Conwy. Love B-y-C, we spent one night there and went to hear a mens choir in the church. Beautiful place. There is simply more to do in Conwy especially if you're planning on 2 nights.
