Two Days in Copenhagen

In Sept. we will be spending two days in Copenhagen while we wait for our cruise ship departure. Need some assistance: Place to stay for two nights that won't break the bank and is centrally located. B@B's are fine. Also where do cruise ships (NCL Sun) depart from?

I found and booked hotels off of tripadvisor.com. We stayed before and after our cruise. Before our cruise we booked the Copenhagen Strand Hotel. We only saw the lobby, they were overbooked and sent us to their sister hotel, the Phoenix. The Phoenix was newly refurbished and had one of the best breakfasts I've had anywhere in Europe. After our cruise we stayed at the Hotel Opera (another sister to Strand and Phoenix). The hotel shows it's age but is functional with decent staff and breakfast. All hotels are walking distance from Kongens Nytorv and Nyhaven at one end of the Stroget. Opera was only a block from the Metro (which is only 15 minutes to the airport). My only complaint was Opera charged us again for breakfasts (in Copenhagen breakfast isn't automatcally included) even though we had booked a room including breakfasts. They fixed it when we got home (and we made some money as the Euro had increased). Our rooms with breakfast were 125 Euros a night for both stays. We were in late July and early August - supposedly the best time to get a good deal on rooms. Hopefully you will be able to find a decent deal in September.

To get to our cruise (Princess, I think NCL departs from the same set of docks). We took the metro one stop west, then caught the first train north (Norreport?). From the station, it's two blocks to the entrance of the port - but still at least four blocks from there to the ship. There is at least one bus that runs through the port area that would have taken us a little closer. We always do one carry-on only, even for cruises, so are always willing to walk when needed. If you are taking bags, you will probably want a taxi (which are very expensive in Copenhagen).
