Trinity Capital Hotel in Dublin

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in mid-September for 10 days. We'll be driving around the island and spending the last 2 days in Dublin before leaving. We figure after a week or so of B&Bs it may be nice to splurge on a nice hotel in the city. Any recommendations? We are considering the Trinity Capital Hotel. Anyone ever been there?

Also, should we spend 2 or 3 days in Dublin? We prefer the countryside and are afraid we'll get bored in the city for 3 days. Would 2 be enough or maybe even 1 1/2?

Penny,

I haven't stayed at the Trinity Capital...yet. I too decided to use it as my "splurge" in Ireland after 2 1/2 weeks of hiking and B&Bs throughout the country. So while I can't comment on it from personal experience just yet, I can say I researched my Dublin hotel choices for a good 3mos before finally deciding on Trinity Capital. I read good reviews of it on Trip Advisor and snooped through Flickr for people's own personal photos of their stays.

Thanks Angella. After looking over everything again last night, I'm now torn between the Trinity and Jury's Inn Christchurch. Jury's is much cheaper and still looks pretty nice. I've got to stop looking!!

I've narrowed our sightseeing down to Book of Kells, Kilmaheim Jail, Georgian Mansion and Nat'l Museum. Does that sound about right to everyone? I just want to hit the very best of the sights. Like I said, we rather stay in the country, but feel we really should see some of Dublin since we're there.

My husband and I are also going to Dublin, Ireland in the first week of September but will only be there for 3 days; 2 nights and we're looking at staying in Best Western Premier Academy Plaza Hotel... and it's also little less expensive than Trinity Capital Hotel.
