I am having trouble deciding where to stay in London. There is a Travelodge Tower Hill that is very cheap and in "downtown" London ($70ish/night), but they will not hold your bags. I am coming in very early and leaving very late. Is there a place to store my bags? Or is it better to just stay at a B&B in Bloomsbury not in downtown but will hold bags - I've been looking at the Howard Winchester Hotel ($85ish/night)? Thanks
Is it 70 dollars or 70 pounds? I took a quick peak at the Travellodges in London and didn't see any under a $100 but it was a quick look.
Thanks, Frank. It is in US dollars. Here is the link:

I will be there March 26 - 28. 2 people.
Thanks!
My experience with Travelodge has been terrible. Poor locations, no services, rooms far from clean. The only advantage was their website booking and proximity to Gatwick - my primary concern at the time.
I don't know anything specific about the Tower Hill location and my British friends think the chain in general is okay.
You are correct for the saver rate -- closer to $77. When I looked earlier I saw only the standard rates which were closer to $115/$120. Still that is not a bad rate for that area. You could store your bags at the train station if you were taking the train to the airport.
Thanks again Frank. One last question: how do you store a bag at the train station? I will be arriving at Heathrow, but leaving from St. Pancras on Paris. We have the Rick Steves backpacks - will these fit in a locker at the station?
Sure, there should be coin locker or an attended left luggage area.
I'd say stay in Bloomsbury. It is a great neighborhood because the proximity of the university makes it less touristy and more homey, although you are close to the British Museum. But it is a quick walk down to Leicester Sq and the theater district. It's my favorite London neighborhood- not too ritzy, not too junky, full of real Londoners.
