travelling in and out of Colchester, England, Fall 2007

We are basing ourselves in Wivenhoe, Essex for a 14 day trip.Any suggestions on travel in and out of Wivenhoe or Colchester to other parts of England.We have done London previously and intend to do that part again.We will travel either by train or bus. Just not sure how to get about.Any suggestions would be a great help to us.Thanks.
