Arriving in London..have 2wks of travel..would like to make my way to St Petersburg, Russia for 3 nights using train/boat...making a few stop overs to sight see.
Any thoughts..thanks
Do you have a Visa? In order to visit Russia independently you need a hotel invitation, and advance visa. The process is expensive and sometimes frustrating. In London find a travel agency that specializes in travel to Russia to help with all the arrangements: http://rusemb.org.uk/travelagents/ http://www.realrussia.co.uk/contact/contactdetails2.asp
I knew I had to get a visa..thanks for the info...
Check out vacationstogo.com, it's a online travel agency that does cruises. Search for cruises that include St. Petersburg. I've booked a few cruises through them and never had a problem. You can get a cruise from a couple of "London" ports that will stop in St. Petersburg. We did a cruise in the Baltics last summer that stopped two nights in St. Petersburg. We took a tour both days with Alla tours which precluded the need for a visa. I thought it was a good value overall.
Thanks Brad
