Travel to London, where else?

We are going to London this summer but want to do one or two more countries as well. Trip length will be 10 to 12 days. I know this is a broad question, but does anyone have suggestions for places to visit. Given that I want to go everywhere, I need to know what is feasible for that length of trip. Paris is an obvious choice but what else?
Thank you.

How about Brussels? Easy to get to with Eurostar and a fabulous city.

Instead of another country, why not explore more of the UK. You could visit Cardiff and other parts of Wales. Or Edinburgh and Inverenss in Scotland. If you don't want to do that, I'd suggest Vienna, Budapest or Salzburg. (I just don't like Paris!)

Carol - Eurostar has roundtrip fares to Paris for as low as £138.00 for 2. Going up north to Edinburgh roundtrip fares for as low as £81.10 for 2.

Carol - Don't write off Paris because it's an amazing place, but with the cheap airlines flying all over Europe, you can go almost anywhere you want.

Go to the easyJet website and click the 'where we fly' tab and use your cursor to highlight the destinations out of the London airports (Gatwick, Luton, Stansed). You can also look at flights on British Airways and RyanAir as well as other airlines. If you have a city in mind, check whichbudget.com to see which airlines fly directly.

It's relatively easy to spend 10-12 days in London and another city or region that's only a few hours away hours by plane. I've done side trips from London to Amsterdam (by both plane and train), Paris (train), Barcelona, Rome, Tucany (Pisa airport)...

I also second Toni's suggestion of Vienna or Budapest and would add Krakow.
