Travel London to Scandinavia

After a trip to England in the spring, I'm meeting my husband in Scandinavia and travelling there for a couple of weeks. Three questions: Is it easier to get from London to Denmark or to Sweden? What is the most cost-effective way to make this trip? Any car rental experience in Scandinavia?
Thanks everyone!

Either is probably fine as far as flying goes. This will be a cost/time consideration for you to navigate (and don't forget to check the baggage fees). We drove from Denmark to Sweden easily. Driving is well regulated, well signed. So you'll have to figure in drive times from Denmark to wherever it is you're going. Also check the rental rate for say picking up the car in Denmark and returning it in Sweden. The Ibis Hotel chain has on site parking (and all the charm of a well run Motel 6) and has hotels outside of Stockholm near metro stations. We drove with a trunk full of wine for the relatives as there's a huge luxury tax on wine etc. in Sweden (and you must go to a special store). You'll need a decent but not fantastic road atlas and plenty of Euros for tolls. Beware of the red light cameras - don't speed and never ever have say a glass of wine if you are going to drive.

We have flown into Copenhagen and then headed north, and we've also flown into Stockholm and headed south. Both worked just fine. It depends, I think, on where you you want to go in Scandinavia. We will be going again in June - spending time in London and then taking an SAS flight to Copenhagen, getting a rental car at the Copenhagen airport, and then driving into Sweden. We will be returning our car in Copenhagen at the end of the trip. It's very easy to drive in Sweden. Never seems like much traffic when you're outside of either Stockholm or Copenhagen.

1) Odds are, you'd want to fly. If so, then it's all the same. If you are looking for another way, check out http://www.seat61.com/Denmark.htm#.UIAyq8WHLh4 By train or ferry, Denmark is the easiest. 2) I'd fly. You can expect prices to be between $75-$150 per person, and I don't think you're going to find train/ferry tickets for much less and it takes longer. 3) Renting cars in Scandinavia is just fine. Do not under any circumstances have a drink and drive (They have a zero tolerance policy and Scandinavians will look at you like you are crazy if you have a glass of wine with dinner and then say you are driving that night). There are also lots of speeding cameras in Sweden (not sure about Denmark), so it's best to stay under the limit.
