On a recent trip to NW Ireland, we purchased a policy thru insuremytrip.com from "Travel Ex" insurance. It cost $89 for the two of us, traveling 15 days in Ireland. It had medical and evacuation.
My wife fell and broke her shoulder and upper arm. They upgraded her ($3,000.00 value) to business class for the trip home. We are in the process of submitting all other expenses that we paid out of pocket, nearly 150 euros. We faired well medically in Ireland, due to having a local Doctors letter of referal before going to Mayo County Hospital. We expect that we will have no problem getting reimbursed from Trave Ex. I would recommend them based on our experiences so far.
They paid the airline direct, but all other expenses will be reimbursed to us. We weren't able to find any companies that would pay providers, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
