We need to travel from Edinburgh to London around June 15-16. Would you recommend train, bus or plane? Thanks.

hi, it will depend on whats important to you. I took the train from Waverly Station to Kings-X and it took me 4 hours. I believe it was a somewhat express train with 1 stop somewhere. you may want to say what is important to you, time, $$$ or ? just so you know, trains put you in town to in town. if you fly, you will need to get transportation back into town. Not a problem tho, but adds more time. happy trails.

Josey, Travel by train will be the quickest and the cheapest method, especially if you pre-book your ticket. You might want to have a look at the excellent seat61.com website for more information. Travel via East Coast Rail from Edinburgh Waverley to London King's Cross is a very pleasant trip. Happy travels!

I've just looked on the National Rail website and I can see Advance tickets from £39.50 (the 07.30 and 10.30 departures on Saturday 15 June). That kind of ticket can only be used on one specific train that you have booked, so if you need a more flexible fare for any train that day it is going to cost £125.70. Those cheap fares will sell out, so book soon if you wish to travel by train. See www.nationalrail.co.uk.
