Hubby and I want to do the London/Paris city tour. If we also want to add visiting Liverpool (yes we're old musicians) and Swansea in South Wales, can I get some suggestions on number of days needed and possible route from Heathrow to Liverpool first then Swansea (to visit a friend for a day). Considering we'd be traveling through Wales anyway, would you suggest any of the towns/sites there, adding another day or two?
Thank you and Happy New Year!
I can't help you much with transportation between Liverpool and South Wales other than it is not an easy connection. South Wales is better accessible from Bristol and Bath. My wife and I traveled to South Wales by car in 2005 and visited Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle - both on the border of South Wales and England. We did not stop in Swansea, but Cardiff has a few sights. We stayed near Tenby, and there are many castles and an abbey in Pembrokeshire that are worth 3-4 days to visit. Good luck and happy travels!
