What are the inexpensive modes of transportation from Helsinki, Finland to Berlin, Germany or other European sites of interest?
Inexpensive, there are not. But, if you want some tips...
- FLYING: Lufthansa flies regularly from Helsinki to the major cities in Germany. You can book on their site and sometimes find very nice prices.
Ryan Air flies from Tampere (150 km from Helsinki) to Frankfurt-Hahn (about 100 km from Frankfurt) and also to Prague, Riga..
There are some ferries that assure the liason from Helsinki to some German coastal cities.
You can for example take a ferry to Tallin and from there a Eurolines bus to somewhere... http://www.eurolines.com
