We have a noon flight at heathrow after a cruise arriving at harwich. The cruise line will not allow booking with their transport until after 1pm. Ihave checked private transfers and the least expensive is londonaire and diamond trust transfers at L140. Does someone have any better ideas for us and not be stressed?

So your flight from LHR is at noon, what time does your cruise dock ?
The length of time you have available to get from Harwich to Heathrow is going to seriously limit your options.
The most obvious way is to take the train from Harwich ( the station is at the docks ) to Liverpool Street Station in London and then take the tube to LHR, but I doubt that this is the cheapest way, but if the clock is against you it could be the quickest.
The brochure states that we arrive in port at 4am. I spoke with our cruise agent and he said we could depart by 6- 6:30 at latest. It is a Sat., so hopefully traffic isn't a busy as during the week. We will both have 2 large luggage and don't want to carry them across London. I just wanted a good transfer from the port to the airport without stops inbetween.

If you have had a quote of 140gbp I think you should go for it, to transfer you to Heathrow. I am presuming the use of "we" means there are at least 2 of you so you will share the expense. Going by train to Liverpoole station in London & then to LHR will not be cheap, either, and with 2 large pieces of baggage, a Royal Pain. To not be stressed sometimes costs money. Only you know if it's worth it. (Maybe you could share the transfer with a couple of others on the cruise?)
Al, your opinion -- We have made that run but were under no time constraints so we didn't time it, The key would be what time does the train run. When we had that run, we walked off the ship right onto the train, waited about 30 minutes and the train left. From Liverpool I would take a cab to Paddington Station - a short ride -- and then the Heathrow Express (15 to 20 mins) to the airport but a long walk to the gate. My guess is that you would have about two hours total transit time. Al ????
Your best stress reliever would have been to stay one night in London. Also you might consider reducing your luggage a bit. When we cruise we take only 3 carryon size pieces -- two backpack style and one rolling.
OK let's say you make the train at eight minutes past seven o'clock in the morning. It costs GBP25.00 per person to get to Liverpool Street and takes an hour and forty minutes. Cost = fifty nicker.
GBP20.00 gets you a black cab to Paddington and it's around GBP10.00 per person on the Heathrow Express.
Total cost = ninety quid.
You save GBP50.00 and get to see early morning crosstown London in action from the back of a black cab ( something I love ).
That fifty quid saving gets you a good breakfast for two in Garfunkles at LHR and a few last minute souveniers.
I thought the question was the quickest way -- not the cheapest.
Its 115 miles from Harwich to Heathrow, I actually drove this route on Saturday and it took just under 2.5 hours.
The route goes around London on the orbital M25 motorway, so if you're travelling mid week you'll probably hit serious congestion as well.
In a best case scenario, you'll have to be off the boat and on your way by 08:30 the latest.
London's Stansted Airport is only an hours drive from Harwich, American among others flys daily to North America from here.
You're correct about getting to heathrow in a timely manner and not bag dragging through London. We have upgraded business class on the 12:20 flight. We tried the 2:10 flight first and no upgrades available. We decided it was more comfort to upgrade and relax and pay alittle more for a driver. We can probably exit the ship as early at 6- 6:30 since we arrive at 4 am.
I just wanted to know if anyone was familiar with londonaire or diamond trust transfers each costs L140 for 2 and 4 bags. Or did you have a bus/van situation you knew about for a little less cost.
