Trains between Cotswolds England and Edinburgh

Hello all, I need to take the train from Cotswolds, England to Edinburgh, Scotland on a Sunday. Do you know which train I would take and how long the trip would be? Then, on Monday evening, I have to take the train back from Edinburgh, Scotland to Haworth, England. Do you know which train that would be? Thank you!

I think that you will find that train stations in the Cotswold are a bit rare. I only know of Moreton-On-Marsh and Kemble. You might have to travel to other areas to get to a train going to Scotland.

There is no rail service to Haworth except the preserved Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, which is more a visitor attraction than a means of transport. To get from Edinburgh to Haworth by public transport you should probably book in advance at www.eastcoast.co.uk. According to the local bus website (www.keighleybus.co.uk) the last bus from Keighley to Haworth leaves at 2245 and prior to that there are roughly two an hour. Looking at trains for this Monday, the last time you can leave Edinburgh is at 1804 which gets you into Keighley at 2151.

Also I generally think your trip is a bit overambitious. You won't get very much time in Edinburgh. Can you fit in an extra day there, or drop that idea.

On Sundays the first train you could take from Cheltenham Spa to Edinburgh doesn't leave until 10:12. It's a direct train and arrives at 16:06. On all other days of the week you can leave as early as 07:12. On Sundays the first train you could take from Moreton-in-Marsh to Edinburgh doesn't leave until 10:10. You would have to connect in London (Paddington) and wouldn't arrive in Edinburgh until 17:27. You can leave as early as 06:48 on Saturdays and 06:10 on weekdays. If you leave Edinburgh at 18:04, you'll make a connection in Leeds on the way to Keighley. I agree with Philip. Either add a second night in Edinburgh or skip it altogether.
