We're taking the train from London (Kings Cross Station) to Edinburgh in September on the Eastern Line. I was wondering if there was a "better" side of the train for views?
Nora, First of all, you may want to delete your duplicate Thread on this topic. I travelled that route last year (in the opposite direction) and don't recall one side having a better view than the other. If there are empty seats, you may be able to switch back and forth, depending on the view. Happy travels!
The line skims a bit of the North Sea coast as it enters Scotland. If you're on the right, you'll get a better view. Other than that, I think it's a tossup.
I would go with the right side as well. In addition to the sea view, there's the view of York Minster and Durham. Pam
