Going to our son's wedding in Hartlepool on the 24th of September, arriving on 22nd. Daughter and husband arriving on the 23rd leaving late on 27th. We will all travel together (6 of us) after the wedding. Should we rent a car or travel by rail. Which is more cost effective? Any suggestions on what to see for such a short time
I'm guessing that Hartlepool is in England yes? English trains have become very expensive. A van could work but how much luggage etc. is everyone totting around with. Traveling where? Point to point between a couple of major cities/sites? Then maybe the train is a good idea anyway. Need more specific itinerary info to give reasonable advice.
Yes Hartlepool is in the Northeast part of England about an hour south of Newcastle. This may be crazy but right now we have no set plans. Except for our daughter and her husband the rest of us have seen Durham, York, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Windemere on a previous visit. We may still do one of these if our daughter really wants to see these places. My son loves castles so perhaps something new with one nearby. We will probably each try to have a smaller bag as we can leave some of our stuff at our new daughter in laws house. She does have a very small car so we could just rent a car big enough for four. Of course, that means paying for gas for two cars.
