Tower of London late September

Mid week in late September will the Tower still be busy? We are wondering if we need to race over there and be very early or is mid morning ok? Wondering if the crowds are still around this later in the season, than summer.. Ideas.

We were there just this past Friday 5/3. Given it was a bank holiday weekend, but it was pretty crowded. Our perspective was that they do a poor job managing the crowds, though the Yeoman Warders said it was not that busy relatively speaking. I would think late September and early May might be similar, so this may give you some idea. This is a sight that lives up to its billing - I was there for five hours because there is really a lot to see (my wife left a little sooner and I met her back at the hotel). So set aside enough time, because if it interests you enough to visit, you are going absolutely love it and won't want to leave!

We also visited early May. I think the Tower is one of those places that is always busy. If you arrive first thing, maybe 20-30 minutes before opening, however, you will be at or near the front of the line. You can catch the first guided tour AND beat the crowds to the crown jewel exhibit (which can have a long line of its own). After that, you can spend as much extra time looking around as you like (then take a picture of the long line outside as you leave).

Thanks both of you. Your probably right it will be busy any time. I think we will just go early like suggested. :)
