There are a number of reputable tour companies in London: Evan Evans and gray Line spring to mind, which all do very similar day trips. (you can pick up brochures at London Visitor Bureau or your hotel- no need for major advance booking). However, Windsor is very convenient to London by a fairly short train ride. Windsor is compact, with a castle and a main street which winds around the castle. At the end of the street is the river, with Eton across the bridge. You should do this on your own, you dont need a tour or a guide. that way you can go at your own pace. I also like doing Stonehenge on my own, but you will need a car to get there

The two that we have used are Evan Evans and Golden Tours, we enjoyed both companies. As for Windsor, it is a 30 minute train ride from Paddington Station in London. You will change train in Slough, it's simple you would just change platforms. When you get to Windsor you would exit the train go to your left up to High Street and there is the Castle. If you want any more info regarding Windsor just PM me and I'll be happy to help you.
