In addition to London, I would like to visit a few famous gardens on my own, not with an organized tour, perhaps as day trips from London or Bath. Is it possible to visit assorted gardens as a single visitor as opposed to groups? Is the Chelsea Flower Show in London as wonderful as people say? Would appreciate suggestions from anyone who has done this. P.S. Will use public transportation only.
Yes, you can visit gardens as a single visitor. There are so many beautiful gardens in England, I would suggest going to the library and getting a book that shows you a lot of the different gardens that would help you decide which ones you would like to visit. Yes the Chelsea Flower Show is great, it is always in May. Savill Gardens in Windsor, Sissinghurst Castle Gardens in Kent, the gardens at Sudeley Castle in the Cotswolds are all great and there are so many more.~~~here are some websites that might help you~http://www.greatbritishgardens.co.uk/~~~~ http://www.britainexpress.com/Where_to_go_in_Britain/Gardens/Gardens1.htm
Thank you very much for your reply and the websites -it'll be fun to plan this trip! Best regards, Brianna
