I will be on the Island of Skye (Scotland) soon. I have only one full day there and am looking for a tour company. I have seen tour recommendations for Kyle Taxi Company. Has anyone experience with tour companies on Skye that they could share? Thank you in advance.

Have you thought about driving? You can get a car in many of the larger towns on Skye. We rented ours for a day (get unlimited mileage) I think near Broadford or Kyleakin. It was a car rental, petrol station, convenience store and laundromat all rolled into one! If you ask the rental people, they can give you the best route. We drove counterclockwise around the island - from Broadford to the northeast, then to the northwest. We had one of the sunniest days on Skye. The rental people provided us with a map of the island and highlighted a route for us. Make sure you hit the Old Man of Storr, Lealt Falls, Kilt Rock, Flora MacDonald's Grave and the Cuillin Mountains. PM me for more info.
Here's a link to a map:

Drive yourself is a good option, if you are confident in driving on the "wrong" side. The car hire place in Broadford at what was Sutherlands Filling station is no longer there.
For car hire, the Kyle Taxi company does car hire http://www.lochalsh.net/taxi , as does S. Morrison base in Portree http://www.portreecoachworks.co.uk
If you dont fancy driving, as well as the Kyle Taxi company there is also Wullies Taxis who do tours http://www.wulliestours.co.uk and here in Kyleakin Alasdair Ross who used to regularly run a taxi now just does tours - I have seen many good reviews on his tours. http://www.scotland-info.co.uk/skye-tours.htm have a look on TripAdvisor for reviews.
For general info on Skye and Lochalso check out www.kyleakin.com and www.skye.co.uk.
Sorry to hear about the filling station! There's a little jeweler across the street as well - you can get some Skye Marble jewelry.
As far as learning to drive on the "other" side, Skye was a good starting point for us to begin to re-learn to drive. The MOST IMPORTANT aspect of the one-lane roads is to remember how to use the pull-off points. You MUST go to the left - NEVER EVER cross over (instinctively) to the right. You will cause an accident. If you are driving alone, make a post-it as a reminder, or if you have a travel companion, have them help remind you.
Let us know how the trip goes!
