This is my first trip to Ireland. I've heard from Irish friends that 'tipping' (gratuity) is not expected. But I don't feel comfortable with that notion. Any advice on tipping for B&B stays, restaurants, pubs, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It has suggestions on tipping posted by Europeans
This brings back memories from our first trip to Ireland. We were actually stopped when leaving a pub because we "accidentally" left our change on the table as a tip. The woman who waited on us just knew that it had to be a mistake. :)
Thank you all so much. The link to European Tipping was great information.
Thanks!

Stephanie, Tips are definitely not required for B&B's.
