Time to get through Manchester Airport

My flight arrives from Dublin at T2 at 7:30 AM and I want to catch a train from the airport at 9:00 AM. I'll have already been in Dublin for awhile so it's not just a connecting flight. Will I be able to make it in that time or should I wait for the later train?

Should be fine - no immigration so just a wait for any checked bags. Can't account for the flight being very late though.

You haven't said where you are going though. If it is a TransPennine Express train advance tickets are valid for three hours after the original booked time should you be late. Need to get it endorsed before boarding.

Marco- Thanks for the reply, I am planning on the TransPennine train, I didn't know you had that 3 hour window, the next train would be leaving at 12 so that would be great.

Thanks!

We landed at MAN in May. I don't know if something was happening that day or if it was their usual but we waited close to two hours to get our bags. If you haven't checked bags, it should be fine.

I also got a lot of extra attention at passport control. Don't know why. I had to show a return ticket and answer all kinds of questions on itinerary and purpose of visit (beyond the usual business or pleasure).

I can't see why there'd be a problem.

I've usually ridden the shuttle down to the car lots and been driving in less than an hour after the plane door opens. Don't know about checked stuff, however.

In any case, from T2, go out the door and turn right and you're almost in The Station (that's the actual name of the place - - it's well- signed).

Manchester is unique. See Andrea's and my reply. Not even in the USA I was so scrutinized at security check as in Manchester this last September when I flew to Prague. It was ridiculous and it took time. I wish you luck. I think they must be bored there.
