Can anyone tell me how long it takes via bus from the Dublin Airport to the city center (O'Connell Street). Aircoach says it takes 40 minutes. Dublin Bus says 12 minutes. That seems like a big difference. They look like they take similar routes. Also, I know it can vary, but if someone can give me an idea of the time to clear customs, that would be great. Even if Dublin airport is usually fast or slow. We arrive at 9:30 am. Does an hour seem like a reasonable time allotment if we have no checked luggage? Thanks!
You'll clear immigration in a half hour. It's a thirty-minute drive, at best. Take your pick on times.
Awesome, thanks. That's what I wanted to hear.
With no checked luggage an hour will be plenty. Amazed that Aircoach say 40 minutes, you shouldn't even have a waiting time as most of their coaches go via the City Centre. Arriving at 9:30 is perfect as well, you miss all the rushhour & School traffic, an hour no bother (unless of course you look dodgy and the customs show an interest). Enjoy your stay with us!
Excellent! I'll try to not look too dodgy, but I can't say much for my husband. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm finally getting to Ireland after wanting to go for the past 25 years.
You'll love it (hopefully!!!!)
There's a really long tunnel from the airport into the city by the docks and both times we took the Dublin Bus Airlink bus it took the tunnel and it seems like 15 minutes or so. This might account for the time differences between the two if one is using the regular streets.
No luggage will help with the immigration line as well if you arrive before the bulk of your fellow travelers, but our trip through was pretty routine but we were also flying in from England so I don't know if that makes a difference. =Tod
