Arriving in London Gatwick at 10:15 a.m. then taking the Eurostar from Victoria Station to Paris, if we take the 1:40
connection is this allowing us enough time in-between.
What time is your Eurostar reservation? Also, I am unaware of any Eurostar leaving Victoria. I beleive you'll need to get to Waterloo station either by tube or by taxi to meet the Eurostar. The trip from Gatwick to Victoria is about 30 minutes and another 10 on the train Victoria to Waterloo. I'd make that 30-40 minutes including time to get down to the tube, wait for the next train, get out of Waterloo tube and to the Eurostar station. If you are taking the 15:11 out of London you should be okay, but that is cutting it close. I would expect you coulld get to the express from Gatwick earlier than 1:40 (13:40). There are 4 trains leaving between 1 and 1:20 which hopefully you can get. I usually get out in about 1 hour to 1.5. Good luck.
Here is the best way to get from Gatwick to Waterloo International. Take a First Capital Connect train to London Bridge. Walk to the other side of the platform and take a Southeastern train to Waterloo East. Take the connecting walkway to Waterloo International. Cost: 10 GBP. Time: one hour. Trains run every 15 minutes.
What time is your train to Paris?
Steve
We are trying to leave the train station to Paris
at 1:40 p.m. My question was are we allowing enough
time between when we land, getting from the airport,
and then on to the Eurostrar to Paris???
You are cutting it close. From Gatwick to Victoria is about 35 min. The problem is your plane could be late, then you have immigration and customs. The best you can hope to leave Gatwick is 11:00. That puts you in Victoria at 11:30-11:45. Tube to Waterloo is maybe 30 min. That makes it 12:15 to Waterloo then you walk over to Eurostar.
