Will be in London the first week of June and want tickets to the Globe. I cannot find on website. Is there another way to get tickets...just need two
Try this:
https://tickets.shakespeares-globe.org/selectshow.asp I had no trouble purchasing tickets on line. Good luck!
Thanks much, but I have tried that and cannot find any seats for my week,
I just tried Much Ado About Nothing for June 3 and June 6, and found tickets for both. Are you trying for any show, or for a specific show? On what date?
When I do it, all I can get is 6/11
Two possibilities for what you are seeing: 1) you are looking for a specific play that only has one performance that week. If you pull down the "select an event" menu and select either Much Ado About Nothing or As You Like It, and click to continue, you will then see multiple dates for each that week (I don't know about the other shows) 2) Is it possible that you are reading the dates incorrectly? For example "Saturday 18 June 11" is the 18th of June, 2011, not June 11.
Just a suggestion. Contact your hotel and ask them to get you tickets. This has always worked for us in the past. In fact, we also will be in London in June and our hotel has arranged reservations for tea and the theater.
There are also agencies which will get them for you- for areasonable fee.
Can you contact the Globe ticket office directly? I hope it is not sold out, but might be easier to speak to someone directly. Looks like there are lots of shows for Much Ado About Nothing.
Not all shows are on every day and a lot of performances sell out well in advance. "Much Ado" is a very popular Shakespeare comedy and I would expect the tickets to go quickly. There is a returns queue at the theatre before the performance, but I don't think there's much chance of getting in.
I called the Globe directly and found the staff to be very helpfull in finding a family price package of 4 seats for McBeth last year. The web site seems to be working now for tickets . http://www.shakespearesglobe.com/ BTW, the Globe is in a great location so that one can enjoy London by the Thames before and after the performance.
