Ticket(s) from Gatwick into London?

Have heard that the two of us could buy some kind of ticket at Gatwick that has a round trip included, but that we could use for both one way. We will be leaving from Heathrow. Is there such a thing? Also, please advise the best station / how to best get to the Marble Arch / Mayfair area of London.
Thanks as always - this group is most helpful!

I don't know about any ticket being usable in that way. Generally it's not possible to use a return as two singles. "Marble Arch/Mayfair" isn't really accurate enough to suggest a single route. Your best bet would be to take a train from Gatwick to Victoria station, but then whether tube or bus is best and which depends on the exact address.

What Philip said. A return ticket is for one out journey and one return journey by a person. The return half would have no value as an out ticket for a second person. You need two singles. Marble Arch / Mayfair is way too vague, over several miles.

Hi Trvlr; I'm not aware of this type of ticket, but here are a couple links which might be helpful to you: www.tfl.gov.uk for everything you need to know about the Tube, including route map and fare zones. (Note LHR is in Zone 6, and most of the London sights are in Zone 1). www.londontoolkit.com Whenever we visit London, we get an airport hotel near LHR.
The Jury Hotel's location is best for catching the Tube into London. It's a very short walk (a couple city blocks) to the Hatton Cross underground station.
