Food - Rick's idea of stopping at a market before boarding a boat or train worked well for us. We only did it about 3 times, but was a great time saver to not have to look for a place to eat the minute you got to your destination.
Packing - 2 gallon Ziploc bags for clothes, compresses well, and keeps things neat. Rick's clothes freshener product was excellent. Ear plugs a must. Would leave a travel hairdryer home as most places had them for our use. Small compass excellent in parks and on streets to get your bearings.
Good neck pillow on plane a must.
Internet was a great tool. Used prior to trip for all B & B reservations, contacted owners with questions. Used Internet cafe mid trip for reservation. Even smallest placest have some sort of a website.

Thanks for the tips. You answer several questions from other threads and nicely summarized. I for one appreciate these summaries from recent trips.
Hi Deb,
I also appreciate these tips. Great suggestions! Thanks for posting.
