Hi There,
We will be stopping in London on our return leg back home to the US in early July and are looking at purchasing tickets to The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time at the Apollo Theater. Since we're traveling during a busy tourist time, should we purchase tickets now and if so, any particular online site you'd recommend? Thank you all!
Hey Kerri, The following sites should be helpful. We are in London in late May. I intend booking Westend tickets soon as the shows can sell out well in advance. http://www.thestage.co.uk/listings/ http://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/london-shows

If there is a show you really want to see always purchase tickets in advance via a site like Ticketmaster UK. When I was in London last month, it was slim pickings at the TKTS booth, they only has tickets available for two shows (at full price): Spamalot and Shrek the Musical:(
I've got a trip coming up in less than a month and I've booked tickets on love theatre.com. Not only do they sell tickets for shows but do so for exhibits as well. Also, if you subscribe, you get emails with sales on them for certain shows. I got great tickets for We Will Rock You for £36 which is what I noticed they would sell for at the TKTS booth on the day of the show. I also booked my tickets to the David Bowie exhibit at the V & A thru this site.
Thanks for the great tips everyone!
Hi Kerri, I too was considering this show for my upcoming trip and I'd suggest you purchase in advance. It is already sold out for some of the dates that I will be there. It is a National Theatre production and you can buy tickets directly through them without paying any extra fees, so I'd suggest you buy your tickets from them rather than from one of the agencies. Here is their website: National Theatre
I would highly recommend booking right away. I am a lower tier friend of the National and I still sometimes don't get tickets. I got one of the last remaining seats to Othello this year. Tickets are a bit easier to get when the shows moves to the west end but if it does move, it means it was a big hit. If you can't get in, I would also highly recommend One Man Two Governors, I laughed myself silly. Enjoy.
Before you buy, go to theatremonkey.com , the best site for detailed information - which seats to avoid, which are the best, they also whose got good prices and who has specials. As for buying the tickets, I check the various sites and buy from the cheapest - or with the better seats.
Thanks Laura - I went to the National site and found out the tickets were almost 20GBP less per ticket vs. the other sites and based on feedback, I booked those right away. Chavi, I tried to get on Theater Monkey's site most of the day and they appeared to be having server problems. I'll have to try again later and see if the tickets I bought in the dress circle weren't very good. yikes!
