Am interested in this hotel but have seen inconsistent feedback. Any help would be appreciated.

Could you provide some details on where you saw the Feedback? The Temple Bar Hotel is listed in Rick's "Ireland 2007" Guidebook, with no mention of any "negative aspects" (aside from the price!). The fact that it's listed in Rick's Guidebook is a good sign!

Bill, I've never stayed at the Temple Bar Hotel. Howerver, if you are looking for a place to stay in the Temple Bar area, I had a very pleasant stay a couple of years ago at the Eliza Lodge. The room was very clean and modern. There is a very nice restaurant below called Eliza Blues where they serve breakfast in the morning. And the location was great ... right on the river in the middle of the Temple Bar area. It was a little noisy but I think all the hotels in that area probably suffer from that problem.
