Teens in London

If you were taking an 18 & 16 yr old girl to London, and you only had 3 days, would you take them to any of the museums or just skip them, because there is so much to do? I have the same question for Amsterdam and Paris.

It would depend on their interests. If they are "into" art- and it would help to know what kind- then don't skip the art museums. If it's history they favor, then the Tower and the British Museum are 'musts'. I think you get the drift. I'd certainly plan some time at Camden Locks Market and Covent Garden Market. And maybe some time for Primark, Harrods, etc. Windsor is also great for teens (at least ours always enjoyed it). There is a sort of market in the old train station (individual vendors with stalls), lots of unique shops, some 'high street' stores (higher end type stores) and some designer outlets, too. Windsor castle is also one of our favorites. And you can watch the changing of the guard in Windsor - you get a better view and the crowds are smaller.

Thank you. I don't think that they are really interested in Art, but I will find all of this out tomorrow. I do like the idea of Windsor. Is it worth going all of the way to Stonehenge?

Your 3 days will be way too full as it is so I would not use that time to travel out to Stonehenge. I would, however, go to Windsor since it is pretty close by.

I would have the girls read a travel book of London and let them pick a few things that they want to do/see. If shopping is one of the things they would like to do...Kings Road would be a great area. They might enjoy going to the theatre one evening. Covent Garden is great fun, they would really enjoy it. I know when my girls were there at that age..they shopped for a little bit, they loved Covent Garden, they enjoyed having tea at The Orangery at Kensington Gardens, they liked the pubs, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, we went to Windsor which they loved, they enjoyed seeing the Ceremony of the Keys at The Tower of London...actually they loved everything about London so I won't list everything. They had been to London several times before also.

I will have to take them to Covent Garden as you suggest. We are already planning to go to the Theatre one night. They are my two nieces and we are getting together tomorrow to talk about what we want to see in London. I just wanted to get some suggestions before I discuss it with them. Thanks.
