I will be in Dublin in June and would like to know if there is any place to go for Tea. There are many places to go in London for tea. By tea, I mean a pot of tea and scones or tea with scones, small sandwiches and pastries. Are there tea rooms in Dublin like there are in London. If so, can anyone recommend a nice tea room in Dublin. Thank you.
Bewley's on Grafton St would fit what you are looking for.
We went to Bewley's, it's really a large place, we had dinner there. The next day we were told it's a Dublin institution that's been around for ages and later on we realized they sell their tea & coffee all over Ireland. Instead, I'd go to Queen of Tarts. There are two locations; we had breakfast at the newer, smaller one on Dame Street (near Dublin Castle) and then afternoon pastries and coffee (but of course they have tea) at the larger, original one on Cows Lane (a small lane between Dublin Castle & Christ Church). We'd have gone a third time if we'd had time, their pastries are that good! http://www.queenoftarts.ie/happyendings.html
