Tea at the Royal Crescent Hotel

I'm meeting 2 girlfriends for a week in the Cotswolds. They suggested we make reservations for high tea at the Royal Crescent. However, I've read some disappointing reviews of the R.C. tea. At the price, it should be wonderful but it's not sounding that way. Has anyone experienced high tea at the Royal Crescent?

The Royal Crescent Hotel has an "Afternoon Tea" served from 3-5pm which is nice. Afternoon tea is scones, savories and pasteries, I'm sure that is what you want. High tea is the evening meal...meat, potatoes, etc., with tea.

Well, Maybe it's a case of not being able to please everyone all of the time. I admit £25 is a lot to pay for disapointment but not a lot for wonderful. If you have your heart set on it, or your friends hearts, give it a try. It looks lovely and David Suchet loves the place.
