Taxis near St Pancras and Tower of London

We are taking a daytrip to London from Paris in two weeks and I am trying to finalize our whirlwind 7 hr of sightseeing day:-)) I would like to use taxis, as my mother-in-law cannot do many steps (ie to get to the Tube). Are there taxis waiting at St Pancras Station? Tower of London? We arrive around 10:30am on the Eurostar and I would like to make the changing of the guards at 11:15 by St James Palace...is this doable? Thank you for any help!!

Plenty of taxis at St Pancras all queued up for you. How long it takes to get around depends on the day of the week. What day are you arriving?

We leave in a couple weeks, but our daytrip to London is on Thursday, 3 Jun...arrive St Pancras around 10:30am. I was hoping traffic would be lighter at this time.

We just returned from London and arrived from Paris at 10:30 a.m. on the Eurostar on a friday. There is a taxi queue right outside St Pancras and we found no problem finding a taxi anywhere in London at any time. The traffic is, however, pretty bad during the day so travel by taxi can be slow. a lot of the tubes have escalators and it is a much quicker way to get around in the daytime.

Watch for signs at St Pancras pointing to the taxi rank. Fourty-five minutes should be enough to get you to St James.

Can't recall seeing taxis on the grounds of the Tower, but that doesn't mean they weren't there. It's a very short walk from the Tower to a busy street.

While most Tube stations have escalators, traversing the station to get to your train often requires a lot of walking, and going up and down steps is not uncommon. Your plan of using taxis is a good idea.

Be aware that demand for taxis increases in the afternoon rush hour, so give yourself enough time to hail one down and get back to St Pancras at the end of the day.

In regards to taxi's at the Tower of London. When I was there, we did the Tower later in the day and I was exhausted by the time we left. I couldn't take another step and when I saw a few taxi's lined up North/West of the main entrance I was thrilled. You should have no problem getting a taxi there.
