If you have been to Estonia's old town of Tallin, I would be very interested to hear if you think it is worth visiting? It seems pretty and quaint. Recommendation for spending a day there? Thanks so much!
On a tour of the Baltic capitals I spent a day and a half in Tallin. The old town is pretty and interesting and a day would suffice, in my opinion. I liked Riga the most.
Matt-
In late June we arrived in Tallinn on the overnight ferry from Stockholm and stayed two nights. Yes, its worth it. Recommendation: follow the Self-Guided Walk in the Tallinn section of RS' Scandinavia book. By doing this you'll see most of the sights.
Have a great trip.
I took the overnight ferry from Stockholm last fall. I loved Tallinn. The old twon is a fairly good size and wonderful to walk in. There is a square in the middle that is very picturesque and has lots of restaurants with outdoor seeting. The architecture is interesting with German and Russian and Scandanavian influences. The shops have neat and different stuff. I defintely recommend it.
Spent a short day in Tallin in June. Wish we had had longer! An interesting place. We had Rick's guide, but rented the audio tour from the TI just off the Town Hall square. The beautiful weather we had helped, of course! Would highly recommend it, but a longer day than we had or a day and a half would probably be sufficient.
