I am wondering which GPS features work well and which GPS features do not work well in the UK
AFAIK, all standard GPS features work the same there as hereAs long as you have a GPS that has a UK/Europe map loaded in itThe feature that works best is going into System or User Options and selecting a voice that has an English accent. If you don't, you won't be able to understand what the GPS is saying to you.(sorry, just being silly, it's late)And here's a tip: When you're in the UK, make a point of complimenting the locals on how well they speak English(yes, even when their accent is atrocious)Funny thing is, when I do that, the locals sometimes (but ever so politely, it's the English way) have the nerve to mention my accent--when, of course, it's their accent that is so weird.:)
I have always had good success with Tom Tom and Garmin in Europe. I own a Garmin and have used it many late nights after driving to find the nearest restaurant or hotel in England, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Czech Republic, and a few others. The Garmin Europe maps are a little more extensive than Tom Tom especially in the East. England has excellent coverage on both devices if you have the Europe maps installed. Can't say much on Magellan or other brands as I have never used them.
I find the English accent voice a wee bit more fun when traveling.
