I am heading to SW Ireland in two weeks. Any recommendations on great but inexpensive places to stay? Planning to go to Galway (stay in Salthill), Cliffs of Mohre (Doolin?), Dingle, and Kinsale. Thanks!
Dingle is a great place to visit but I would think two nights and three days would cover it on a short visit. In reference to your other post, you can rent bikes and other equipment in Dingle so you can ride the Dingle Loop without having to bring anything (except rain gear). You don't say how long you're staying or what you want to see. Other "top sites" in SW Ireland would be (in my opinion) the Rock of Cashell, Killarney, Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Mohr.
Thanks Ken! I will be there for 8 days, focusing primarily on the SW Ireland. I will definitely look into the Rock of Cashel as I have seen it mentioned several times on this board.
Caren, Killarney has Ross Castle and the Muckross House. We've always stayed at the Countess Road B&B. Salthill Hotel has the Trad on the Prom. Cliffs of Moher and the Burren, we stayed at Doolin Activity Lodge. In Dingle, we stayed at the Green Mount B&B, there's a concert at St. James church that's worth the time. If I can help with other questions, PM me. SW Ireland is my favorite place and I've got a picture of a lake in Killarney National Forest, the surrounding hills and mist on my computer screen. You'll love it, too
