I am surprising my father with a trip to Scotland & England for he & I. We will be spending a few days up in St. Andrews touring around. I plan on taking the Caledonian Sleeper Train down to London; what would be the best departing/arriving stations to take? Out of Edinburgh, or St. Andrews (if possible)?

There isn't a train station in St. Andrews. You will need to take the train from Edinburgh to Leuchars then a taxi to St. Andrews. Leuchars is 5 miles from St. Andrews. You will need to use Edinburgh Waverley Station.
