I will be attending a Magic Convention in Febuary In Blackpool using a 3 day flex pass off season. If any one had gone on a short day train trip from BP and enjoyed it let me know.
I am not familiar with the railway there, though I have been there. If you can get to almost anywhere in the lake district, the scenery is wonderful. Be prepared for rain and mist in Feb, though.
You could go to York which is beautiful, it's about almost a three hour train trip, there is a train that leaves at 7:33am. There is enough to see to keep you busy for the day. You could also go to Windermere in the Lake Distict also very beautiful, but as it will be winter and not having a car, I would suggest York.
Hey John...Liverpool is only an hour on the train several times a day from Blackpool. There's a lot of stuff to do there. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!

Confirmed Train to Liverpool from Blackpool usually 0ne hour 23 minutes...sometimes leaving every half hour or every hour depending on time of day. Manchester really has a lot of culture stuff going on too. There's more to England than beautiful countryside. Especially for someone interested in the entertainment biz.
