I'll be in England visiting my daughter in May and early June. She suggested I go to Edinburgh, but wondered if anyone knew of good tours of Ireland....a friend suggested seeing the Dingle Pennisula area.
Thanks!
Do a search on "Ireland" in this (To The North) category and you will find all sorts of tour/itinerary suggestions.
Where in England will you be? There are cheap Ryanair flights from Stansted or Luton to Kerry Airport (in the hinterlands of the Dingle peninsular, half way between Tralee and Killarney. I recommend you stay in the Killarney area, visit Muckross House (must-see IMO, especially the gardens) and enjoy a day at the lake(s). The ring of Skelling on the very top of the Ring of Kerry is a must-see IMO and so is the Dingle peninsular. Weather permitting spend the sun-set hours at Inch beach (there are pubs with outside seating).
I'll be in Leeds.....actually fly from the US into Manchester
Thanks!
I agree that Dingle is not to be missed. In May and June it might be crowded and the Ring of Kerry will be mobbed with tourists/tour buses.
Staying outside of Killarney would be good and would give you the chance to see several things in the area.
I would recommend whatever your itinerary try to see a section of the coastline....it is spectacular!
Have a great trip!
