Storing luggage in Dublin

My husband and I are traveling to Dublin in June. We bought RyanAir tickets to spend several days in London as well but after reading horror stories of being charges enormous fees for luggage, we would like to find a place to store some luggage in Dublin while we are in London. I know that Dublin Airport offers this service, does anyone know the cost or have a better suggestion? We have learned by experience (and from Rick) to be very light packers anyway...we never check luggage if we don't have to and generally only travel with carry-ons, but RyanAir seems to be much more strict than the average airlines. Thanks!

Have you figured out what to do with luggage your first day in Dublin? Since flights arrive early morning and most hotels won't allow you to check in before 2pm, I'm wondering about storage too, so I'm anxious to see what kind of answers you get.

Kacie, Here's a quote from the Dublin airport site: "A left luggage facility is available in the Short Term Car Park Atrium, directly adjacent to the Terminal, for short and long term storage of luggage. The facility, operated by Greencaps, is open from 06:00 to 23:00 daily and rates vary depending on the size of baggage. Greencaps porterage service is also available in the Departure and Arrival Areas to assist passengers with their baggage." If you will be staying in the same hotel when you return to Dublin, the hotel may be willing to store your luggage for the three days you'll be in London. They might charge you a small fee, but it certainly would be less than using the facilities at the airport. Sarah, Most hotels will hold your luggage for you until your room is ready. However, it's wise to check with the hotel in advance to be sure. There usually is no charge for this service.

I echo Tim's suggestion- if you are going back to the same hotel in Dublin (for a reasonable number of days) they may be willing to store them for you (I have been lucky in the past). Otherwise do a logic check, is it cheaper to store them at Dublin airport or pay Ryanair fees. Go with common sense
