Any suggestions for moderately priced hotels in Stockholm, preferably centrally located?
Hello Alita. In Stockholm, I liked the guest house that is mentioned in the travel guide book "Rick Steves' SCANDINAVIA". (I forget the name of it. The words guest house, in the Swedish language, is in the name of it). A Swedish man named Jan, or Jon, is the owner/manager of it. Most of the rooms in it do not have a private bathroom. The rooms that have a private bathroom are much more expensive. It is at a great central location, near the underground train station that is near the sports arena. I walked from that guest house to Gamla Stan island. The guest house is near a bus stop for getting on a bus going to the island that the museums are on. Hotels in Stockholm are expensive. In Rick Steve's book, only one place for overnight accomodation in Stockholm (other than hostels) has lower prices than that guest house. That lower priced place was a prison. The guests' rooms there are actually old prison cells. That place did not appeal to me.
"A Swedish man named Jan, or Jon, is the owner/manager of it." And if you go and want to address Jan or Jon, do NOT use the "hard J" of the English language. The J is pronounced as a Y. A lesson I learned over 30 years ago and have not forgotten.
