I am traveling to London in less than two weeks and my accommodations fell through (I was supposed to stay with a family friend). Considering I hadn't budgeted a place to stay, I'd like to find something inexpensive for my mom and I without sacrificing safety and quality.
I came across a B&B called Manna House that has availability and its very reasonable (£55) but it is about a 20 min tube ride south of central London.
As I am flying in to Gatwick and later taking the Eurostar to Paris, would I be better off paying the extra money to stay closer to the city? If so can anyone recommend a good budget option? I'm sort of in a crunch...
Thanks in advance!
I just looked at Manna House on the web, and I think it sounds like a good option unless you will be staying out very late. According to their website it's just 2 miles from Greenwich and about 15 minutes from Waterloo station, so you're really not far from a lot of good sights. It also ranks very high in the TripAdvisor listing for B&Bs. If you want some reasonably priced alternatives, check out two B&B networks that we have used with great success: London Home to Home, and At Home in London. You'll likely be paying around 100 GBP for a room for 2 in Central London. Good luck and have a great trip!
hi Jesse, have you checked out the recommendations on the thread a bit above this one, 'cheap safe london hotels on a budget!'? 55 pounds is a grest price for accommodation. Greenwich is a nice district, I liked the weekend market there.
