My husband and i are staying in Rome 3 nights, the beginning of our trip and Milan 1 night the end of the trip any suggestions.
Thanks
Carol
Carol, this would be better posted in the "To the Boot" section. However, for Rome, I can suggest Hotel Aberdeen near the termini and recommended in Rick's book. I have stayed there a couple of times and the staff is friendly and helpful, the neighborhood is safe and it is close to metro and bus lines. They have a website you might check out.
i would agree. the hotel aberdeen is very nice and extremely handy in terms of sightseeing and the proximity to the termini. consider staying at least one night at the Suore di Santa Elisabetta, a Polish run convent. it is serene and surreal. hearing them sing in the morning is incredible. this too is very close to the termini and all sights.
